Post Season Honors Continue

Sophomore Outfielder Alex Hanson and Sophomore Catcher Scott Manea continue to receive recognition on their stellar seasons.  

Alex Hanson a graduate of Steinbrenner High School in Tampa, FL received the Bill Tuten Scholar Athlete award for the FCSAA Baseball best overall student/athlete.  In addition, Alex was selected to be a first team All-State award winner.  He has graduated from St Petersburg College with an AA and a 3.9 GPA, he plans to make a selection on his four year school following the teams post season run.

Scott Manea a native of Shrewsbury, MA was selected to the second team All-State.  But to top it off Scott received the Defensive Player of the Year award for the State of Florida.  Scott has graduated from St Petersburg College with an AA and a 3.5 GPA, he will be heading to Florida International University come the fall.

Head Coach Ryan Beckman had this to say, "Could not be happier for Alex and Scott.  Baseball is a game of consistency and these awards honor how concistent they were as students and as athletes.  We constantly preach to our players about being the best overall student/athlete and these two young men exemplified that this season."

The Titans will kickoff their post season play today at 4pm against College of Central Florida at Henley Field in Lakeland, FL.  All games will be televised on Youtube at www.thefcsaasports.com.
