One hundred and seventy two teams compete in NJCAA Division 1 Baseball.  For the first two weeks of the season a pair of St Petersburg College Titans have been the best in the country.  Sophomores Trevor jensen and Chris Busch won back to back, State and National Players of the week honors.

Chris Busch got the ball rolling on opening weekend going 7 for 13 with 2 doubles and 6 RBI's while collecting 3 stolen bases.  Trevor Jensen kept the offense alive going 9 for 16 with 2 home runs, 2 doubles, and 10 RBIs.

"The entire offense is playing well right now.  Yes, Busch and Jensen are a huge piece of that puzzle but others have been stepping up and contributing.  Diamond Johnson, Alex Dominguez, and Gavin Garay have been just as hot.  It takes a team effort to win a ball game in the state of Florida and right now we have a great thing going where each player wants to one up the person in front of them.  My hope is we can keep this effort and momentum the entire season."  Said Coach Beckman when asked about the honors.

The Titans next home game is Friday January 10th against Lake Sumter State College.  This contest is a 1pm start at Jack Russell Memorial Stadium.
