Harris Wins POW Honors

Dustin Harris is no stranger to winning awards during his time at St Petersburg College.  As a freshman he was named a first team All-Suncoast Conference player, a second team All-State player, and won the team MVP award.  That summer he went away to play summer baseball for the Worcester Bravehearts in Worcester, Massachusetts a franchise in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League.  While there he helped lead the team to a Co-championship, in addition to winning the Leagues Adam Keenan award presented to the player that epitomizes overall Sportsmanship.

In the fall Dustin did not win an award but rather committed and signed to continue both his academic and athletic career at Florida Atlantic University.

Most recently, Dustin received the Florida Collegiate Systems Activities Association Baseball Player of the Week honors.  Harris hit safely in all 3 games he played in that week including 3 hits against Central Florida, and 3 hits against Pasco Hernando.  In addition to a 2 run home run that sealed the victory against Santa Fe College.

"As a coach I could not be happier for Dustin to receive this honor.  He is the quiet leader of this years team and works hard in the classroom, on the field, in the weightroom, you name it.  Personally, I hope this award makes him smile, something he rarely does." said Coach Beckman when asked about the award.

The Titans team will continue there road trip as they head down to IMG Academy to take part in the Prep Baseball Report Juco event with a 4p game against Seminole State College of Florida.
