Former St. Petersburg College Titan standout Andrey Martinez has officially completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Bethune-Cookman University, adding another major accomplishment to an already impressive collegiate journey.
Martinez arrived at SPC from Colombia as an ESL student and quickly became one of the premier players in the program during his two seasons with the Titans from 2022–2023, while also earning his Associate of Arts degree.
During his career at SPC, Martinez established himself as one of the most productive hitters in program history. His career totals include:
90 games played
.351 batting average
108 hits
15 doubles
5 triples
70 runs scored
100 RBI
22 stolen bases
22 home runs — setting a new school record
While his accomplishments on the field were remarkable, Martinez’s journey off the field may be even more inspiring. Moving from Colombia, adapting to a new culture and language, balancing academics with athletics, and continuing to grow both personally and professionally are all a testament to his discipline, resilience, and determination.
“Andrey has had a very impressive college baseball career, but his story is even more impressive,” said the Head Baseball Coach Oscar Espada. “Job well done, Andrey. Thank you for displaying so much discipline and resilience throughout your journey.”
The Titan family proudly congratulates Andrey on earning his degree and looks forward to seeing all that he accomplishes in the future.
