Rincones lands FCSAA Player of Week Honors

Rincones lands FCSAA Player of Week Honors

Gabe Rincones did not wait long to re-announce his presence to the state of Florida. In fact, he launched the very first pitch he saw over the fence at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex in Auburndale on opening day in front of dozens of professional scouts. By the end of the weekend, he had two homers, 5 base hits with 5 runs scored- amounting to a .556 batting average. For his efforts, Rincones was named the first FCSAA Player of the Week of the 2021 season.

Rincones makes the second Titan to be given the honor in just as many years, joining Chris Williams who received the award during the 2020 campaign. Upon hearing the news, Rincones stayed grounded "I am honored to receive this award, but the thing about baseball is that the season is a marathon rather than a sprint and I plan on forgetting my successes the same as I do my failures and get back to work". Head Coach Ryan Beckman was not shocked that Rincones started off swinging the bat well "We are happy Gabe is off to a good start, he's earned it with all the work he has put in".

Rincones- an FAU signee- is in his second year at St Petersburg College. With a tremendous 2020 season as a true freshman before the COVID shutdown, some may have believed Rincones would get caught looking in the past. " No way" says Outfield Coach and Recruiting Coordinator Mitchell Wydetic " Rincones is among the most motivated players I have ever been around, and that includes first rounders and guys in the big leagues right now".

Rincones' hard work and intensity has lent itself well to the Titans baseball program. Beckman and company surely hope the trend of offensive production continues well into the 2021 campaign.
