Titan Slugger Rewrites History Books with Hit Streak

Second year Slugger Gabriel Rincones etched his name into the St Pete College Baseball history books last week when his 37 game hit streak finally came to an end against conference foe South Florida State. Rincones led the entire state of Florida in batting average, recorded a total of 21 extra base hits and contributed to a team leading 38 runs batted in.

The previous record was held by Trey Amburgey- now in Triple A within the Yankees organization- who hit safely in 29 consecutive games back in 2015. Head Coach Ryan Beckman notes on just how special these hit streaks can be "What Gabe did over this streak was just so special. We faced some of the best teams in the state throughout his run and he hit everyone. I think the phenomenal part about it was the fact these weren't just solid base hits, these were clutch doubles piled on top of great at bats game after game".

With the final stretch of the 2021 campaign approaching, Rincones and company will continue to power the Titans offense as well as begin a whole new hit streak all the same.
