Despite giving up 4 errors Monday afternoon, the Titans of St. Petersburg College avoided the series sweep by defeating the Hawks of Hillsborough CC. The Titans (14-19) came into George Steinbrenner Field having loss back to back gmes to HCC but, that didn't stop SPC from finding a way to pick up the victory. Early on the Titans gave up 1 run in the 2nd, 1 run in the 3rd and 4 runs in the 4th to put themselves in a 6-1 defecit. The Titans however fought back scoring 3 runs in the 7th and 5 runs in the 8th to pick up the 9-8 victory. Rightfielder Ivan Markel had a great night with 5 AB's, 1 run off 3 hits followed by Catcher Nicholas Yedman with 4 AB's off 1 run and a hit with 3 RBI's. The Titans are on the road Wednesday in Ft. Myers to face Florida Southwestern but will return home Friday to face the Buccaneers. First pitch is set for 1pm at Jack Russell Stadium in beautiful Clearwater. Admission is always free.
