Dustin Harris is showing why he is one of the most talented stars in all of professional baseball. The former SPC outfielder was drafted by the Oakland A's back in 2019 and was recently acquired in a trade with the Texas Rangers in 2020. He has since been a key contributor to the minor affiliate with the Rangers known as the Hickory Crawdads. During his collegiate career, Dustin batted .409, .496, and .717 with the Titans. Harris had an initial offer from Florida Atlantic University to continue playing college baseball. However, the Oakland A's had other ideas and offered him a $250,000 bonus to come play for them instead of staying in college. In his first season with the Rangers, Harris hit .327, .401, .542 with 20 home runs and 25 steals in 110 games played. Aside from his primary role as an outfielder, Dustin provides relief at the 1st and 3rd base position. Dustin has played mostly at the first base postion and the Rangers believe he may be talented enough to handle both infield and outfield corners. He saw some action at third base last summer and believe he can get the job done at this position if he continues to improve his lateral movement. His quickness and average arm strength should work in the outfield as well.
