This past weekend, our Lady Titans participated in the Dodgertown tournament, which is the site of the state tournament. The first match started off right with a victory over NWF 4-0. Freshman Nikkie Kovalsky from Venice Fla. earned the win in the circle. She threw a complete game shutout giving up only 5 hits and striking out 10. This took her personal record to 6-1.

The offense contributions were made throughout the line-up. Freshman Infielder Ashley Spell, Sophomore Catcher Brianna Skipper, Sophomore Outfielders Torey Scott, Kelsie Sanchez and Jennifer Bazylak, along with Freshman Outfielder Jen Hodges all combined for 6 hits. Jen Hodges led the team with 2 runs scored.

Game 2 was a tight 7-6 loss vs. Seminole State. Sophomore Amanda Chambers started on the mound and Sophomore Allison Williams and Freshman Kaitlyn Mcmillian each had an inning of work. Sophomore Torey Scott was 2-3 with a walk and Sophomore Kelise Sanchez almost hit for the cycle with a double, triple and homerun.

Our Lady Titans next faced Nationally ranked Indian River State and this was a solid outing all the way around. The defense was sharp as was Nikke Kovalsky (7-1). She threw another complete game shut-out giving up 7 hits and striking out 9. The lone run was scored by Kelsie Sanchez who reached on a hit, was sacrificed over by Freshman Ashley Spell and swiped an extra bag with excellent baserunning. Sophomore Brianna Skipper drove her in with a sacrifice fly.

Our Lady Titans final game for the weekend was a loss and ended the weekend 2-2. They are now 13-7 for the season. Following the weekend, the FCSAA named Nikkie Kovalsky Softball Pitcher of the Week. Come out and support our Lady Titans with their home games tonight vs. Santa Fe. The games begin at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
