On a sunny Tuesday afternoon in Clearwater, the Titans of St. Petersburg College battled the Patriots of the College of Central Florida. The Titans (8-10) lose very close game 1 5-3 after being down 5-0 but, came within 2 after scoring 3 runs in the 5th. However, game 2 was a different story as both teams traded barbs in the 1st inning with each team scoring 3 runs. However, it was the Titans who came on strong scoring 2 in the 3rd, 2 in the 4th, and 1 in the 5th to secure the 8-6 victory over the #3 team in the state of Florida. "We competed for 14 innings and I was impressed that when they came out and scored 3 runs in the 1st inning of game 2 that we did not give up" said Head Softball Coach Bre Myers, " We played solid defense and capitalized on a couple of their errors." Sophomore pitcher Lindsey Maresca threw a complete game with her teammates giving her enough run support. Freshman Alyssa Rano was 3 for 3 on 3 runs scored with Sophomore Bella Huff contributing with 3 RBI's and a walk. The Titans are on the road Friday when they travel to Santa Fe College to take on the Saints but, will return home Saturday when they host Lake Sumer for 12pm doubleheader matchup.
